Straight child of gay parents?

I just saw La Cage aux Folles for the first time and it struck me it could occur that straight children of gay parents may have to contend with prejudice via girlfriend/boysfriends or friends familes. Could I ask any families like have you ever had these type of issues or are people generally accepting?
