Tamron 18-270mm Di II VC PZD error "Lens Not Attached"?

I have purchased Tamron 18-270mm Di II VC PZD lens today... It is giving me error "lens not attached"... Everytime I need to switch off the camera and turn it on. Please suggest me what to do..
