No, the Bible pages you refer to do not agree with today's viewpoint. These are some that quite frankly I think come more from man than they do God because it does not speak of love or kindness but only to obedience etc. Sounds like the old Jewish stand on women being property of their father and husband which I know is not God's way. If you will read the directions to men and women regarding their marriages you will see an entirely different picture. Although wives are to be submissive to the husbands decisions, he must be submissive to God and always think of his wife before himself. That is a pretty tall order but if a man fulfills it, no woman would have a complaint.
