My opinion on god and religion?

the universe has been around for 14 billion years? did you do the scientific experiments yourself or do you just believe what the scientist tell you? science is only as smart as the man who made it. things like carbon dating have been proven to be off by thousands and thousands of years. so if the universe has been around for 14 billion years as you say then who or what made it? was it something or nothing?
