Would Earth be impacted if the star, Eta Carinae, a mive star in our galaxy, exploded as a supernova?

The Chandra telescope observed the most mive explosion of a star to date, and it is speculated that the star Eta Carinae which is in our Milky Way galaxy could explode on the same level as a supernova. The question is how and if Earth would be impacted by such an explosion this close to Earth?
