I need help for a SPELLING BEE?

I sometimes think that it helps to spell them phonetically. Like aggravate...ah-guh-guh-rah-ah-vuh-ah-tuh… or breaking them down. Benevolent...ben-ev-o-lent. Other than that it`s just remembering them basically.
